Overview
This section helps you diagnose and fix common issues during recovery, installation, or file access.
Every solution is short, clear, and designed for quick action.
Tip: If something looks unusual, always check the simple things first – USB port, boot order, and BitLocker status.
If the Tool Doesn’t Boot
Try the following steps:
- Select the USB manually from the boot menu (F12, F11, Esc)
- Switch between UEFI and Legacy boot modes
- Use a different USB port (USB 2.0 works best on older systems)
- Fully restart the device (avoid sleep/resume)
Note: Many laptops hide USB boot options when Secure Boot is enabled.
If Windows Installation Won’t Start
Most common causes:
- Missing or incorrect storage drivers
- Disk not detected
- BitLocker protection active
- Secure Boot blocking the installer
Try disabling Secure Boot temporarily or unlocking the Windows drive when prompted.
If Your Drives Don’t Show Up
Possible reasons:
- The disk is encrypted with BitLocker
- The drive uses RAID / Intel RST and needs drivers
- Damaged or unsupported partition table
- NVMe drive requires vendor-specific firmware
Quick check: If your disk asks for a BitLocker key — unlock it first. Locked disks are invisible to installers.
If Files Refuse to Copy
This happens if:
- The destination doesn’t have enough free space
- USB devices are too slow or unstable
- Certain folders are damaged or unreadable
- System-level files require permissions
Try copying files in smaller batches or switch to another storage device.
If Password Reset Doesn’t Work
Make sure:
- You selected the correct Windows installation
- The account is local, not Microsoft-linked
- The system partition isn’t corrupted
- BitLocker is unlocked
Password reset cannot bypass Microsoft accounts. Only local accounts can be restored.
