Step-by-step Windows Reinstall

|

A Clean Installation

This module performs a clean install of Windows. The disk you choose will be formatted, and all data on that disk will be removed.

If you haven’t backed up your files yet, open Access Your Data before proceeding.

Connect to the Internet

Before you begin, connect the device to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
A connection is required only once, during the initial Windows download.

Downloading Windows

PC-DNA downloads Windows directly from Microsoft servers.

This guarantees that the system is legal, original, and free from modifications.

We do not host, alter, or modify any Windows files — this is required by Microsoft licensing.

After the first download, the files remain stored on your USB.

You won’t need to download them again.

File Verification

To ensure authenticity, the Windows image is verified using a SHA-256 checksum.

This ensures the Windows image is authentic and not corrupted.

Choose Your Version

After preparation, you’ll be asked to choose which Windows edition to install.
Windows will list every edition available in the downloaded image.

If PC-DNA detects an activation key on your system, you’ll see a message with the exact edition it belongs to. Install that edition to preserve your existing license.

If no key is detected, you can select any edition you want from the list.
After installation, Windows activation is required according to Microsoft licensing rules.

Using Your Own ISO (Optional)

If you prefer installing a custom or pre-modified build, you can load your own ISO file.

Supported systems: Windows 10 and Windows 11 only.

Other operating systems are not compatible.

Drivers (Optional)

You can enable optional driver integration.Windows already includes built-in drivers, so in most cases you don’t need this option.

Enable it only if you know your hardware requires additional support.

Preparing the Installer

Preparing the installation environment may take several minutes.
During this stage, files are unpacked, validated, and configured.

It’s normal if this takes up to 15 minutes or longer, depending on hardware.

Automatic Restart

When everything is ready, your computer will restart automatically.

After reboot, the Windows installer should appear on its own.

If the Installer Doesn’t Start

If Windows Setup doesn’t appear, remove and reconnect the USB drive.

If it still doesn’t start, open your BIOS and set Windows Boot Manager (or Windows Setup) as the first boot device.

After that, the installation will begin automatically.
